Royal Commission into Child Safety
LOVE AUSTRALIA OR LEAVE PARTY DEMANDS AN URGENT INVESTIGATION INTO NATIONAL CHILD SAFETY
Love Australia or Leave Party calls on the Australian government and demand an urgent investigation into child safety, nationwide. We demand a Royal Commission into the deaths and ongoing abuse suffered by children who are known or have been reported to the departments of child safety.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull recently made a knee jerk reaction calling for a Royal Commission into youth detention in the NT.
The Queensland Child Safety recently released 21 month old Mason Jet Lee back into the care of those who neglected to care for him.
Mason Lee was admitted to hospital with extensive injuries 3 mths before his death with a broken leg, severe nappy rash, ruptured bowel and an anal tear.
The doctors at the hospital notified Child Safety authorities, yet the department of Child Safety allowed Mason to return home only to end up dead.
Mason is just one of many children who has been failed by the decisions made by the Department of Child Safety.
It is these very departments set up to supposedly protect children, yet they are failing miserably, resulting in preventable and unnecessary deaths.
It is a Royal Commission into the deaths of children in our homes that is needed more urgently then a Royal Commission into children detained in Northern Territory Detention Centres.
It is evident that child safety is failing our children in every state and territory in Australia.
Child Safety has blood on their hands and they will continue to have blood on their hands if there is not a major overhaul and desperately needed reforms to the current system.
One death of a child is too many. How many times do we hear when a child has died, been murdered, abused or neglected that they were known to the department.
These are preventable deaths.
It is an absolute disgrace and it is evident that these departments are never held accountable for the poor decisions made whereby a child has been returned back into a known abusive or harmful situation exposing a child or children to further abuse or neglect, which has resulted in serious injuries or death.
It is time the Child Safety departments take responsibility and are held accountable, the decisions they make for a child or children could mean the difference between life or death.
If it is good enough for Turnbull to call for a Royal Commission into ice addicted, violent kids in detention and authorised restraining practices in the NT, it is good enough to hold a Royal Commission into the failed, inadequate and incompetent and under funded departments, that have failed children in QLD and throughout other states and territories in Australia.
It is not the lack of public reporting, it is the lack of action by the very department set up to ensure every child has the right to be kept safe at all times.
Love Australia or Leave Party has set up the Counting of Dead Children Facebook page and will set a webpage on the Love Australia or Leave website with a counter of children that have died to bring public awareness of children that have died as a result of abuse or neglect. Most of the children that have died have previously been known or involved someway with the failed current child protection system.
One has to ask how many children must continue to die without anyone being held to account?
One death of a child is too many, it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure we have the proper protections in place to save lives, not put more lives at risk.
