Who is Paul Monaghan?
Well , I am a 47 y.o. Small business owner, Plumber, Teacher, Firearms Instructor, Dancer, Author, Romantic. Above all of that I am a Son, Father, Husband and a Patriot, someone who cares deeply about the Australian way of life. A way of life under threat.
I firmly believe that we should all stand up for what we believe in, even if you stand alone. Fighting for justice, family, neighbours, for the weak and downtrodden.
It’s time for a purge of our politicians. Lets replace them with ‘real’, honest Australians who have the best interest of our people and our country as their first priority. Good wholesome values from those who represent us in parliament. Now is the time for change so that we can still save our country and way of life. Stop foreign ownership, selling off our public resources, time to make this the Lucky Country once more.
Most people I talk to are not happy with their elected representatives, but then turn around and re-elect them, WHY?? It’s time people, If not now, then when?
I will represent the people in our electorate, I will represent the people in our country, I will vote as my heart tells me to and how my constituents voice their views to me. I will put the people and our country first.
I want to start the ball rolling to abolish political entitlements, including excessive pensions to people who don’t need or deserve them. It may be a hard uphill slog, but I will start at the bottom and work my way up.
On a regular basis, my wife Deb and I volunteer at "Rosies Friends On The Street", a homeless shelter, We take hot drinks, food and conversation to acknowledgement to those less fortunate than most. Once a month we attend a sausage sizzle in the park with the patrons. I fill in when others are sick or have other engagements and can't fill their roster. We have been helping out since last Winter and I can't see us stopping anytime soon.
Our politicians are elected for a term, we need to look further than the next election, further than ‘what can I do to get re-elected’. We need long term vision, long term goals to get this country back in to the fast lane, an economic strength , a country who develop their natural resources, not ship them overseas and buy them back at inflated prices. A country we are proud to call home.
